The
2008 National Children's Burn Camp will be held from September 27-October 3.
The IAFF National Children's
Burn Camp has earned international acclaim over the last decade.
Each year, the Foundation selects a young burn survivor, ages 13-15,
and a professional fire fighter/camp counselor from regional burn
camps across the United States and Canada . These individuals come
to the Nation's Capital for the week-long program which includes
tours of the monuments, memorials and museums, visits with national
leaders and other activities with local fire fighters.

Many IAFF affiliates and members, regional burn foundations, interested
individuals and businesses partner with the IAFF Burn Foundation
to sponsor events during the National Camp. They provide financial
support, donate apparel and memorabilia, arrange for special transportation
for attendees and make other extraordinary efforts to ensure each
camp attendee's experience is memorable.
This internationally recognized program was developed to give young
burn survivors the opportunity to explore Washington , DC and share
their experiences with other teens who have fought back courageously
and successfully from burn injuries.
The friendships developed last well beyond their week together at
the IAFF National Children's Burn Camp.
