Funds
raised by the IAFF Burn Foundation support improving the lives
of burn survivors by funding new treatments, expanding and
developing behavioral health and other support programs, and
through the creation of prevention and education materials.
Each year, IAFF members
from across the United States and Canada participate in the Marine
Corps Marathon in Washington, DC as part of the IAFF Burn Foundation
Fire Fighter Marathon Team. As a charity partner of the Marine Corps
Marathon, the IAFF Burn Foundation reserves a limited number of
entry slots which are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis
to those individuals interested in joining this selective team.
Runners accepted for the Fire Fighters Marathon Team are asked to
raise a minimum of $1,000 each, with all proceeds benefiting the
IAFF Burn Foundation. More
