2007 MARINE CORPS MARATHON - IAFF BURN FOUNDATION TEAM
On October 28, 2007 more than 35 IAFF members and individuals participated in the 32nd Marine Corps Marathon held in Washington, DC as part of the IAFF Burn Foundation Marathon Team. Robert Kuhn, from Middleburg Hts. OH, IAFF local 2882, was the fastest male IAFF member, finishing in 3:00:19. Valorie Minton, from Richland, WA, IAFF Local 1433, was the fastest female IAFF member, finishing the race in 3:38:20.
Runners raised a total of $41,908.51 in pledges this year. Each team member pledged to raise a minimum of $1,000 to help support the IAFF Burn Foundation improve the lives of burn survivors throughout North America. The donations directly support improving the lives of burn survivors through the creation of prevention and education materials, funding new treatment research and expanding and developing behavioral health, burn camp and other survivor support programs.
