IAFF Burn Foundation Research Grant Program 2011
The IAFF Burn Foundation Research Grant Program continues to lead
to new knowledge and innovative approaches to the prevention and
treatment of the physical and psychological problems that impair
the quality of life for a burn patient.
The IAFF Burn Foundation recognizes the need of the burn community in North America to improve the quality of burn care.
The IAFF Burn Foundation is committing itself to two goals over the next five years:
* To hasten the development of practice guidelines in burn care by facilitating the performance of high-quality clinical research in burns.
* To take advantage of the excellent research programs already in place in burn centers to study acute and chronic health problems of fire fighters exposed to smoke inhalation.
This year the award will cover two years of research work, and will be a total (direct and indirect) of $60,000. In contrast to previous years in which multiple awards were issued, this award will be given for funding a single project. Deadline for grant applications is Decemeber 1, 2010.
